This is My Father's World!

This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears all nature sings,

and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father's world:

I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees,

of skies and seas; his hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world, the birds their carols raise,

the morning light, the lily white, declare their maker's praise.

This is my Father's world: he shines in all that's fair;

in the rustling grass I hear him pass; he speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world.

O let me ne'er forget that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.

This is my Father's world: why should my heart be sad?

The Lord is King; let the heavens ring! God reigns; let the earth be glad!

From my earliest memory, this was one of my favorite songs! We sang it often in church, and my heart would sore with the wonder and joy of God's majesty and the way all of creation declared His wonder! I never felt that God was closer in Church than He was in nature. I don't mean this in a "New Age" way, but in the way of Genesis 1 where it says, "In the beginning, God created." This song says it all, how can one look at this world and not see the hand of God upon it? I hope that this blog will in some way be able to draw one to see the beauty of what He has given us, and allow the creation itself to speak to the excellencies of His Person. I want to share some of the photos that I have taken and trust that the beauty of His world will refresh your spirit and encourage your heart!
